What is the “e”-word you might ask? It’s a word that most Christian’s treat as a bad word, even if they might not know it.
EVOLUTION.
There. I said it. I am well aware this is a controversial first topic to talk about with the new freedom I have with this blog but this is where we are. And I’m not trying to be controversial and rile things up, I’m simply trying to open and expand my fellow Christ-followers minds some. This is not a pro-Darwinism post by any means just so’s you know, which, being a creationist myself, is not a theory I support
The word EVOLUTION (say it with me now) actually has two definitions. I looked up a bunch of different versions of the definitions and they all pretty much say the same things in different ways, so I’m going with the google one because it is the best balance between a bunch of science-y jargon and something too simplistic. (And that’s not because I don’t think ya‘ll can handle science-y jargon, its that my brain doesn’t want to think about the science-y jargon right now).
The definitions are as follows: 1. The process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth. This is also the basic definition of Darwinism, and this is where most Christians stop. But if you juuuuust look at the second definition it says: 2. The gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form. And THIS ladies and gents…is where fact lies. While Darwinism (the first definition) is still just a theory. It is fact that biological beings do gradually change and evolve over time.
We evolve as people. That is a fact. Not in the sense of apes to Homo sapiens…but think about it this way. Going from speaking, to expression through pictures and glyphs, and then to writing is evolution. The process of walking, to riding horses, to bicycles and automobiles, is evolution. People being dispersed all over the world in ancient times (see the Bible, Genesis 11:1-9), and then adapting to the lands they dispersed to slowly over generations, (the cold, dry, hot, wet, etc) is, in fact, human kind evolving.
As you grow, and your thinking patterns change, and your tastes in food and clothing change, and your priorities change…this is all evolution ya’ll. You are developing, adapting….evolving. Not into some kind of higher being…just into the self that God created you to be.
We are at the end now, and if you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading! And if you disagree with me, and still think the “e”-word is a bad word, and you’d rather use “adapting” or “changing” that’s ok. Just know it doesn’t have to be that way…and maybe start evolving yourself. 😉

I like it and I agree!! Good work!!!
“Evolve” does not have to be a bad word!
